Eight teams from Tshaulu and the surrounding villages will be engaged in the Boys Nemakonde KO Competition in two weeks' time. All the teams are affiliated to the Stream A of the Thulamela Local Football Association Super League.
The eight teams that will be battling it out in the prestigious competition are Lukalo Hotspurs, Begwa United, Duvhuledza Flamingo, Tshaulu Ghetto Boys, Tshaulu Powerlines, Munangwe United Brothers, Tshaulu Soccer Academy and Dimani Young Masters.
According to an organiser, Mr Eric Murudi, the first matches will be staged at the Tshifudi Stadium on Saturday, June 22. The semifinal will be staged at the same venue the following day, while the final is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, at the same venue.
The champions of the competition will receive R3 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and five soccer balls. The runners-up will receive a soccer kit and five soccer balls. The remaining teams will receive consolation prizes of three soccer balls each.
The man of the match will be presented with a sports shopping voucher of R600. A similar prize will be presented to the top goal scorer.
A local businessman, Mr Boy Nemakonde, will sponsor the competition.
