Leopards’ stars to join Brazilians?

Sport  Date: 14 June 2013

Black Leopards' top goal scorer, Rodney Ramagalela, and two of his team-mates, Raymond Monama and Tiyani Mabunda, are most likely to be in the Mamelodi Sundowns stable when the activities for the new season start in two months' time.

Leopards’ marketing manager, Mr Tshifhiwa Thidiela, revealed that their negotiations with the Pretoria side were at an advanced stage. Thidiela further stated that they had agreed with Sundowns on most of the clauses outlined in the deal, saying what was pending was the signatures.

Thidiela stated that things may change at the 11th hour, saying several other sides had also shown interest in the three players. He cited Bidvest Wits as one of the clubs who had made it clear that they were prepared to spend a large amount of money in their quest to acquire the services of the trio. When asked why they had decided to release the three players, who are regarded as the team’s pillars of strength, Thidiela said that they had no option but to let them go.

He indicated that great players were not easy to maintain, saying keeping the three players would cause a burden to the club financially. When asked about the other players whom they were intending to sell, Thidiela said that that would depend on the offers which might come their way.
