The first matches of the Boy Nemakonde KO competition will be played at the Tshifudi Stadium tomorrow afternoon (Saturday).
Eight teams from Tshaulu and the surrounding villages will take part in the competition. All the teams are affiliated to Stream A of the Thulamela LFA Super League.
The eight teams which will be battling it out in the competition are Lukalo Hotspurs, Begwa United, Duvhuledza Flamingo, Tshaulu Ghetto Boys, Tshaulu Powerlines, Munangwe United Brothers, Tshaulu Soccer Academy and Dimani Young Masters.
Two matches will be played tomorrow. The opening match will be between Munangwe United Brothers and Tshaulu Sports Academy and is scheduled to kick off at 12:30. Begwa United and Lukalo Hotspurs will lock horns at 14:30. The other two quarterfinal matches will be staged at the same venue on Sunday afternoon. Duvhuledza Flamingo will face Tshaulu Ghetto Boys cand Tshaulu Powerline will meet Dimani Young Masters.
The semifinal and final will be played at the same venue next Saturday, June 29.
The champions of the competition will become R3 000 richer and will also receive a floating trophy, soccer kit and five soccer balls. The runners-up will be presented with a soccer kit and five soccer balls. The remaining teams will receive consolation prizes of three soccer balls each. A local businessman, Mr Boy Nemakonde, is sponsoring the competition.

He mainly writes sports reports and resides at Tsianda Village. In 2004, Frank won the National Castle League Award, an award for the best reporter in the SAB league in South Africa.
