DZANANI – Officials of the South African Football Association (SAFA) witnessed the formalising of a R15000 sponsorship from Magwaba Bus Services to Dzadfa, during a ceremony held at the Netshidaulu Hall in Dzanani last Saturday.

Magwaba has been sponsoring the Dzanani District Football Association for nine years. The advisor of the company, Mr Ally Matsila, said they are ploughing back some of their profit into the community. Matsila said the involvement of the youth in sports will reduce the growing rate of crime in the country.

Sports veteran, Mr Nthambeleni Gerson Rammbiyana, said it is good to have sports-loving business people like Magwaba Company. According to him, sports promote discipline and good health. Rambiyana's plea was that Dzadfa must be financially accountable both to the public and the sponsor.

The financial statement must be audited and this will make the sponsors happy. Mr Shadrack Maroge from the Makhado Municipality Sports desk said Magwaba is a pillar in the development of sports. The municipality will soon stage a game at the Thohoyandou Stadium, he added.

SAFA NPER Deputy President, Moses Maluleke, said the Association is happy with the involvement of politicians in sports. They have to consider the lament of players if there is a shortage of playing grounds and other sports facilities. Dzadfa PRO, Mr Samuel Maduwa, said it is hard to get sponsorship in this time and Magwaba came as a saviour to the Association.
