Mauluma All Stars beat Tshikombani Arsenal 3-1 in a Nzhelele stream match at Mauluma on Sunday.
The victory was not a true reflection of the game, as the home side was superior in the possession stakes. As usual, Arsenal created numerous chances and squandered the majority of them.
Armando Dongola, Arsenal's fullback, was booked for pulling Muneiwa Musekwa’s jersey within the danger area, 10 minutes into the game. A similar incident occurred five minutes later, with Stars’ left back Manda Luvhengo the culprit.
Rinae “Matari” Phaswana of Stars opened their account in the 28th minute, after a corner kick that was taken by Fhumulani Phaswana. Stars’ second goal came when Patrick Ramantswana released a rocket that was too hot for Arsenal’s keeper, Fhatuwani Tsetha, to handle.
In second half, Arsenal lost their original fighting spirit when their defender, Pfariso, was cautioned with a card following a bad tackle on Fhatuwani Tsetha. Stars continued to pressurise the opponents, with their strikers misusing their opportunities.
Muneiwa Musekwa of Stars deflected the ball back into his own net while trying to clear Armando Dongola's square pass, making the score 2-1. Phaswana completed his brace in the 78th minute. He capitalized on the Arsenal keeper's handling mistake and blasted in a rocket from close range.
