Fourteen teams to play in Mulindavhathu

The opening matches for the Mulindavhathu Soccer Challenge were staged at the Khubvi Benjies grounds over the past weekend.

The tournament was officially launched during a ceremony at the same grounds last Friday.

The results for last weekend's matches are: Tshibvumo Young Stars 5, Musasenda Big V 3; Khubvi Dangerous Darkies 2, Khubvi African Stars 1; Vhufuli Pull Together 5, Tshifudi XI Experience 4; Maholoni Stone Breakers 6, Tshilulu Mighy Mangoes 4; Mudaswali United Brothers 0, Ngwenani Manchester United 1 and Lamvi Ficus 0, Khubvi Peace Makers 2.

This weekend's matches are: Ngwenani Manchester United vs Makonde Tiger Boys, Maholono Stone Breakers vs Vhufuli Pull Together, Khubvi Dangerous Darkies vs Khubvi Peace Makers and Tshilulu Mighty Mangoes vs Tshibvumo Young Stars.

According to one of the organisers of the event, Mr Norman Ramahada, the champions will take home a cash prize of R3 500 and a floating trophy.

A cash prize of R2000 is awaiting the runners-up. The team finishing the tournament in the third place will be presented with R1 300, while the fourth-placed team will be given a cash prize of R1000.
