Although the registration window for new members is still open, the first league matches in The Best FJR Funerals and Finance Masters’ League were played last weekend.
According to league organiser Mr Fhatuwani Rananga, seven teams have already affiliated to the newly formed league. They are Folovhodwe, Madimbo, Mutale, Tshitanzwavhuyo, Sigonde, Mukovhawabale and Manenzhe. The results of the opening league matches are: Folovhodwe Masters 1, Tshitanzhwavhuyo Masters 1; Madimbo Masters 2, Sigonde Masters 0 and Mutale 0, Mukovhawabale Masters 0.
Rananga appealed to the other teams which are interested in joining the league to phone him on 0825301952. According to him, the registration window for new members will remain open until the end of this month. The registration fee is R600.
Rananga further revealed that a committee to run the league was formed during a meeting at the Muswodi Post Office last Saturday. The members of the committee are: Messrs Elijah Khwareli, Jerry Rabuli, Patrick Shongane, Jerry Muroga, Jerome Nethavhani and the founder member, Mr Fhatuwani Rananga.
Rananga also appealed to masters women's teams to affiliate. A player must be 35 years and older to play in the league.
