THOHOYANDOU – In spite of the fact that they have each accumulated less than 1000 votes (at the time of going to press), Black Leopards and Dynamos Football Club are adamant that they will be among the four teams that will participate in the annual Telkom Charity Cup tournament.

The tournament will be staged at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, July 31.

Black Leopards were lying in the fifth spot with 588 votes at the time of going to press, while their Giyani counterparts, Dynamos Football Club, were not even among the top eight.

The Leopards' Public Relations Officer, Tshifhiwa Thidiela, appealed to the people to stop pressing the panic buttons, saying that nothing shall stop them from taking part in the annual charity event. He revealed that they have started with their road shows with a view to remind their supporters about the dangers of not casting their votes in large numbers.

According to him, they were at Madombidzha last Saturday and they will be at the Thohoyandou Spar Supermarket parking area tomorrow (Saturday). He further stated that they will proceed to Tshilamba Township in the Mutale area on Sunday.

Thidieala indicated that they regard the tournament as the "Black Leopards Charity Cup" for the simple reason that they will participate every year. On the other hand, the Dynamos Public Relations Officer, Mr Pastor Mafumo, stated that they will start their voters campaign programme next Monday, June 28.

According to him the programe will be officially launched at the Giyani Stadium on Monday starting at 10:00. They will proceed to Phalaborwa, Lulekani and Namakgale on Wednesday. The campaign will stretch to Tzaneen, Nkowankowa, Lenyenye and the surrounding areas on Friday.
