Muhuyu XI Experience were too strong for Muhuyu Copper Stars and beat them 2-1 in the final of the NJ Munyamela Soccer Tournament at the Muhuyu Copper Stars grounds on Saturday.
It took Experience 24 minutes to take the lead. They were awarded a free kick in the 35-meter area. Ndivhuwo Nengovhela beat the keeper with a volley from the set piece. The keeper of Copper Stars, Rotondwa Muhali, palmed the ball into the net in a attempt to clear.
Copper Stars strengthened their midfield by introducing Thonifho Tshivhase for Mashudu Siligi early in the last half. Tshivhase made his presence felt nine minutes after his introduction. He beat the offside trap and showed the keeper the wrong way.
Fhatuwani Rambani of XI Experience was booked for ignoring the referee’s whistle in the 69th minute. Experience reclaimed the lead in the 75th minute. Rotshidzwa Nephiphidi headed home, following a corner kick that was taken by Nduvho Ravhura.
