Gogobole Home Defenders held Gogobole Bucs to a goalless draw in a local Limpopo Dairy League derby at the Gogobole grounds on Saturday.
The score was not a true reflection of the match, as the home side missed countless chances. Bucs had their first taste of bad luck in the sixth minute, when Lutendo Nndwambi shot into the hands of the opponents' keeper, Mabulana Gededzha, from the penalty area.
Piet Ramabulana of Defenders became the first player to receive a yellow card. Bucs realized that it would be difficult to find the net if they continued volleying from behind and then started to cool the ball down in the middle of the park.
They hit the back of the net, but the referee ruled the player offside.
The second half started at a snail's pace, with both teams struggling to penetrate each other’s defence. Bucs pressed hard in their search for a goal. Defenders gained momentum as the game progressed. It was in the 66th minute that their lethal striker, Thabo Mudau, missed a fortune. He shot wide with the keeper, Mulalo Maphaha, well beaten.
