Last Saturday was a sad day for Tshiozwi Dynamos. They gave away three vital league points to Mpheni Home Defenders, following a 3-1 defeat at the Safa Vhembe MMK Insurance Brokers League match played at the Mpheni grounds.

The visiting side nearly took the lead in the fifth minute, when their bulldozer striker, Velaphi Mphahuli, went loose and shot wide from the edge of the box. Defenders scored their first goal via Moses Lisoga, who beat the keeper, Thendo Shivhishi, when he chipped the ball and beat the lone keeper.

Shortly thereafter, Try Sebola equalised from 25 meters out, leaving Rudzani Mashamba stranded. The half-time score was 1-all.

The Sinthumule outfit realised that it was not their day when George Phungo's ground cutter missed the target by inches. The home team midfielder,  Given “Mendu” Ndou, scored his team's second after he beat the off-side trap and went straight to the lone keeper to score freely.

Defenders made two replacements early in the last half. Aaron Lisoga and Rendani Ncube came on for Gay Seakamela and Eugene Lino respectively. Their introduction changed the complexion of the game as Defenders started to dictate terms in the middle of the park.

The third goal came in the 80th minute, when Rendani Ncube received the ball from the centre line and beat three defenders. He passed the ball to Lizzel Ramukhuvhathi, who sent it back to him to give it the final touch.
