Black Leopards played to another goalless draw when they met Witbank Spurs at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
The home team would have had only themselves to blame had they lost the match. They abused countless scoring opportunities in the first minutes of the match. Jabulani Ndebele unleashed prematurely, instead of moving a few steps towards the keeper, Brice Msiza.
The Spurs side was strong in the far back and striking force departments, while lacked cohesion in the middle of the park. On the other hand, Leopards enjoyed more ball possession, but their promising moves were turned into nothing, due to the rock-solid defence of Spurs.
In the second half, the local lads put more pressure onto Spurs. Isaac Papa of Spurs could not make the grade as the opponents used him as their freeway.
The home side came close to scoring in the 76th minute. Meshack Maphangule shot wide with only keeper Msiza to beat. Leopards’ strikers wasted many opportunities to win the match. The former Leopards defender, Humphre Khoza, was reprimanded with a card for rough play.
The draw was a fair result for the evenly contested match.
