Leopards to move back to Makhuvha?

Sport  Date: 11 October 2013

Black Leopards are likely to play their next home league match at the Makhuvha Stadium.

This will only become a reality if the Premier Soccer League gives the venue the thumbs up when they inspect it next week. The head of technical services, Prof Ronny Scholtz, inspected the stadium early last month. He then pointed out some problems to be fixed before approval could be granted.

According to the manager of sports and recreation at the Thulamela Municipality, Mr Ronald Makhadi, Scholtz was unhappy with the pitch of the Makhuvha Stadium. He also indicated that they had fixed everything which Prof Scholtz was not happy with during his first visit.

Leopards' next home league match will be against Blackburn Rovers and will be played next Saturday, 19 October. Leopards have played five league matches so far, two of which were played at home. Things are not going according to plan in the Leopards camp. They are still to win a league match this season after five outings. They lost one and drew four.

The chairman of the club, Mr David Thidiela, is optimistic that playing in front of the packed Makhuvha Stadium will change the team’s fortunes.
