THOHOYANDOU – All roads will be leading to the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon. That is where the long-awaited Castle Premiership League match between Orlando Pirates and Black Leopards will take place.
For a number of reasons the match is expected to provide maximum entertainment from the first whistle blow up to the bitter end.
Pirates are currently lying in the third spot and chances are good for them to win the league title if they manage to collect full points from tomorrow's fixture. On the other hand the home team must win the match in order to secure a place in the BP Top 8 KO competition.
Leopards will be fighting it without their key defender, Wanani Mulaudzi. He was shown a controversial red card during their match against Lamontville Golden Arrows last Saturday, a match they lost 1-2 at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.
Leopards rectified their mistakes and beat Manning Rangers 2-1 at the Chartsworth Stadium in Durban on Tuesday night.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:30. Those who will miss tomorrow's match due to some commitments will have another opportunity of watching their home team next Wednesday, April 10. Lidoda Duvha will lock horns against Jomo Cosmos at the same venue in the match that is scheduled for 20:00.
In the other Castle Premiership League matches Free State Stars will host Lamontville Golden Arrows at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in Free State. Wits University will entertain Supersport United at the Milpark Stadium.
Two matches will be played on Sunday. Ria Stars, who are a tough side to beat lately, will enjoy the home ground advantage in their match against Moroka Swallows. The match will be played at the Pietersburg Rugby Stadium starting at 16:00. Ria Stars beat Manning Rangers 2-0 at the same venue last weekend.
The match of the weekend will be between Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns. This one will be played at the Ellispark Stadium, starting at 15:30. It will be screened live on television. Amazulu will pay a visit to Sanlam Santos at the Greenpoints Stadium in Cape Town next Tuesday, April 9.
