After beating their archrivals, Tshakhuma RO United, 2-1 at Tshakhuma on Saturday, Maweja Takers shared the spoils with Ramukhuba FC the following day. Sunday’s match ended in a 1-1 draw.

As if they were going to bury the visitors alive, Takers approached the game like a house on fire. It took them only six minutes to score their goal. Mukandangalwo Ramunana was on target, following a brilliant pass from his captain, Khuliso Netshaulu.

Ramukhuba gained momentum towards the end of the first half. They threatened to score in the 34th minute. Their Rastafarian striker, Happy Maluleke, unleashed a powerful ground cutter from inside the box. The ball hit the woodwork and landed outside the field of play for a goal kick.

Takers introduced Tendani Ramadi for Nkhanedzeni Nemahunguni early in the second half. Their central defender, Shonisani Rambebu, was booked for wasting time. Ramukhuba then took the game to their opponents. Their endless efforts gave rise to a goal in the 57th minute. Happy Maluleke blasted in a rocket, following a scramble within the box.

Two more players for Ramukhuba, Lesley Masindi and Maanda Maeba, were reprimanded for dangerous tackling and obstruction in the 59th and 64th minute respectively. The home side missed a fortune in the 78th minute.A defender of Ramukhuba, Joel Manenzhe, handled the ball within the box. That prompted the referee to award Maweja Takers a penalty. Their captain, Khuliso Netshaulu, caused an upset by shooting wide from the white spot.

Joel Manenzhe of Ramukhuba was warned with a card, following a continued argument with the referee moments thereafter.

Maweja Takers lost hope after Netshaulu shot wide. They played defensive football for the remaining part of the game.
