ZWIGODINI – Zwigodini Real Vikings will represent Limpopo Province during the National Castle League play off matches that will be staged at the Esikhawini Stadium in Richards bay, Kwazulu Natal from 22 to 28 June.
According to the national coordinator of the Castle Regional League, Mr Samuel Matodzi, the aim of staging the national play offs at the end of each season is to determine the overall winner.
Two teams will represent each of the nine political provinces. The eighteen teams that will battle it out in the play offs are Jabu Stars, Reigerpark Juventus, Sobantu FC, Steadville X20 Football Club, Nyamazane Celtic, Argentina Football Club, Sasolburg Juventus, Khadi Spurs Football Club, Kokstad Swallows Football Club, Eleven Angels, Winks United, Real Madrid, Young Blues, Zwigodini Real Vikings Football Club, Matopele Flying Birds, Inter Milan and Mandoria Football Club. The teams will be provided with soccer kits during the seven days tournament. In the circular that was issued early this week all clubs that will be participating in the play offs have been requested to furnish the national office with their colours before May 30.
Apart from the fact that the eighteen teams that will be partaking in the play offs have already secured places in the Vodacom Promotional League in the coming season, there is a lot at stake in the play offs. The overall winners will take home an amount of R12 000.
The second placed team will become R7 500 richer while the team that will finish the tournament in the third spot will be given an amount of R4 500. A cheque to the value of R3 500 is awaiting the team that will obtain the fourth position in the tournament. The best goalkeeper, top goal scorer and the best player of the tournament will each receive a fabulous prize.
