NZHELELE – Mudimeli Scientists collected full points from their match in the Dzanani District Football Association First Division League, at the expense of Migavhini Young Eagles, despite the fact that it was an away fixture for them. The final score was 2-0.

The game was equally contested, with both sides creating scoring chances for their strikers. Tshifhiwa Ramabulana, the Eagles’ midfielder, was cautioned with a card for a rough tackle on Prince Mudau. The home side were strong at the far back while their strikers let them down by continuously fumbling at the shooting range.

The Chemical Boys from Mudimeli Village were one goal up when the teams adjourned for half time. Rendani Ramavhale received a beautiful pass from Peter Muleya and sent in a rocket in the 34th minute. The keeper of Young Eagles, Nicholas Nkhumeleni, palmed the ball back into his own net in an attempt to fist it away.

Young Eagles came back strongly in the last half but the lady luck was not on their side. They effected two changes in the 54th and 58th minute respectively. They replaced Shadrack Denga and Rendani Mphephu with Lutendo Ramabulana and Rudznani Tshivhandekano.

The replacements proved to be a clever move on the part of the Eagles’ technical staff, as they managed to keep the Scientists’ defence on the run for cover. Scientists used all their substitution chances. They introduced Godfrey Muleya, Mulalo Mubvafhi and Nkhume Musekwa for Lutendo Mmboyi, Prince Mudimeli and Lucas Mafukaduvha respectively.

Young Eagles failed to convert their numerous chances despite the fact that they were enjoying the advantage of playing downwind. The Scientists’ second goal came in the 78th minute. Lodwick Muleya forced his way through the defence of Eagles and released a ground-cutter.
