Baroka humiliated

Sport  Date: 07 March 2014

Last Saturday was a day that Baroka FC will not easily forget. Their chances of winning the NFD title were narrowed, following their 0-2 defeat at the hands of Jomo Cosmos at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa.

Cosmos moved from the ninth to the seventh position on the log after the victory, while Baroka dropped from the third to the fourth position.

Thanda Royal Zulu proved that they really mean it when they say they want to escape the relegation axe, when they beat Maluti FET College 3-2.

Chippa United maintained their leadership on the log by beating Sivutsa Stars 2-0 at the Kabokweni Stadium in Nelspruit. Chippa leading the pack with 45 points, seven ahead of the second-placed Black Leopards.

FC Cape Town disappointed their supporters when they shared the spoils with Witbank Spurs, with whom they played to a goalless draw at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town. Black Leopards continued to collect significant points by beating Vasco da Gama 2-0 at the Giyani Stadium on Saturday.

Santos managed to collect a full compliment of points when they beat Milano United FC 1-0 at the Wynberg Military Base Stadium. United FC beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at the Olympia Stadium in Rustenburg.
