The unpredictable Madodonga United played to 1-all draw against Makhitha Iyarunga in a thrilling MMK Insurance Brokers match at Makhitha on Sunday.

It was evident from the onset that Iyarunga were going to give United a tough time as they took the game to their opponents from the first whistle. They missed two chances before they finally got a goal in the 16th minute. Moses Mabeba beat the offside trap and scored easily.

Realizing that their opponents were beating them with pace, United started to display their rough skills in a bid to neutralise the aggressive Iyarunga’ strikers. The referee did not give them a chance to continue with their unbecoming conduct as he quickly flashed a yellow card to Donald Ramalapa for obstruction. Norman Managa of Iyarunga was warned with a card for ignoring the referee’s whistle in the 64th minute.

United equalised through Donald Ramalapa, who received a brilliant pass from Malindi Ravhutsi. He unleashed a ground cutter from an awkward angle. Iyarunga’s keeper, Mashudu Maboko, could only watch the ball go beyond his reach.

That was an insult to the players of Iyarunga. They initiated numerous dangerous moves from behind, but they couldn’t find the back of the net for the winner.
