Leopards to collect more points in the Free State?

Sport  Date: 28 March 2014

After blasting Sivutsa Stars 6-1 at the Giyani Stadium two weeks ago, Black Leopards are geared to collect more points this weekend.

They will undertake a journey to the Free State where they will fight for league points against Maluti FET College at the Charles Mopedi Stadium tomorrow. It remains to be seen whether Lidoda Duvha will continue from where they left off in their first-round league match, which was played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium six months ago. Black Leopards then walloped the students  7-4.

Leopards will pin their hopes on their leading goal scorers, David Zulu, Sanele Mkhize and Rendani Ndou for goals while their defenders, Dunga Munganga and Marks Munyai, will ensure that their danger area is always clean. Maluti have nothing more than pride at stake, as they are on the safe side when it comes to relegation.

Thanda Royal Zulu will play in front of their home crowd. They will entertain Milano United at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay. Royal Zulu, who were rooted at the bottom of the log for the first three months, are now a difficult side to beat. They managed to collect full points in their last five matches.

Blackburn Rovers will not find it easy to win although they will be playing at home. They will host the much-feared Jomo Cosmos at the Sugar Ray Zulu Stadium in Durban. Just like Thanda Royal Zulu, Cosmos have won their last five matches in a row. Sivutsa Stars will lock horns with United FC at the Kabokweni Stadium in Nelspruit. Santos and Roses United will test each other’s strength at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.

Sunday will see Witbank Spurs take on African Warriors at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank. Vasco da Gama and FC Cape Town will play at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town. The match of the week will be between Baroka FC and Chippa United at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Chippa United are currently leading the pack, while Baroka are close behind in the second spot.
