The underdogs, Muduluni Young Chiefs, surprised the cup specialists, Muraleni United Brothers, when they won the Sinthumule/Kutama Easter tournament at Ravele on Monday. The two teams played to a goalless draw and the champions were determined by a penalty shoot-out, with Young Chiefs winning 4-3.

The game was a balanced affair, but United created more scoring opportunities. United started to demonstrate their rough skills in the first half, but the referee calmed the situation by reprimanding Duncan Maringa with a card.

The keeper of Chiefs, Khodani Matumba, made his presence felt in the 34th minute. United were awarded a free kick just outside the box. Rendani Mathavha unleashed from the set piece and Matumba impressed even the opponents when he braved the hot shot and executed a brilliant save.

A defender of United, Rhulani Maringa, was lucky to get away with a yellow card. He handled the ball intentionally, but the referee only flashed a yellow card when everyone thought Maringa would be taking an early shower.

Chiefs enjoyed ball possession throughout the last half, but they were unfortunate because their promising moves were turned into a nightmare, due to the rock-solid defence of United.

In the losers' final, Zamenkomste FC played their hearts out when they beat Magau FC 1-0. Zamenkomste broke the deadlock in the 28th minute when their left flank, Livy Machaba, beat the keeper with a long-range ground cutter.
