Another big blow for Black Leopards

Sport  Date: 30 April 2014

Black Leopards have good reason to panic. Their chances of participating in the promotional play-offs are becoming slimmer by the day. With only two league matches left before the league programme comes to an end, Lidoda Duvha are now in the fourth position on the log.

Leopards, who were lying in the second position last week, dropped two steps down after their 0-2 defeat to Milano United at the Grassy Park Stadium in Cape Town last Sunday.

Baroka FC moved to the third position, following their 1-0 home victory over Blackburn Rovers at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Should Baroka FC and Milano win their remaining matches, Black Leopards will not qualify for the play-offs, even if they manage to collect full points in their remaining fixtures.

Although they have already won the league championship, Chippa United did not want to leave anything to chance in their match against United FC, whom they beat 3-2 at the Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg. FC Cape Town failed to impress when they suffered a 3-4 defeat at the hands of the Maluti FET College.

Roses United and Thanda Royal Zulu played to a goalless draw at the Kaizer Sebotlelo Stadium in Bloemfontein. The result did Roses United more harm than good, as they are in the relegation zone. Jomo Cosmos failed to beat Sivutsa Stars, with whom they played to a 1-1 draw in Thembisa.

Santos beat Witbank Spurs 1-0 in Witbank and African Warriors beat Vasco da Gama 2-1 at the Charles Mopedi Stadium.
