A must win for Black Leopards

Sport  Date: 02 May 2014

Black Leopards must beat FC Cape Town in order to enhance their chances of qualifying for the promotional play-offs at the end of the season.

They will meet in their National First Division League match at the NNK Rugby Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday afternoon. Black Leopards are currently in the fourth position on the log, following their 0-2 defeat to Milano United last weekend. The teams that finish in second and third position, together with the team placed 15th in the Absa Premiership, will play in the promotional play-offs to determine the team that will join Chippa United in the Absa Premiership. Chippa gained automatic promotion to the elite league. Black Leopards and FC Cape Town played to a 2-2 draw at the Makhuvha Stadium in their first-round match two months ago.

In another match, Chippa United will pay a visit to Santos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Although Chippa had already won the league title, it is a do-or-die match for Santos. Santos are one of the hot contestants for the promotional play-offs.

Thanda Royal Zulu will host African Warriors at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay and  Blackburn Rovers will take on Witbank Spurs at the Sugar Ray Zulu Stadium in Durban. Rovers have already been relegated to the lower league. Baroka FC will fly to Cape Town for their match against Vasco da Gama at the Parow Park Stadium.

Jomo Cosmos and Maluti FET College will battle it out for league points at the Charles Mopedi Stadium, Milano United will lock horns with United FC at the Moruleng Stadium in Rustenburg and the match between Sivutsa Stars and Roses United will be staged at the Kabokweni Stadium in Nelspruit.
