Leopards to tackle Ajax in the mother city

Sport  Date: 15 March 2002

THOHOYANDOU – Black Leopards will undertake a journey to Cape Town this weekend. They will play against Ajax Cape Town in their Castle Premiership fixture at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town on Sunday. The match will start at 16:00.

Leopards must win the match at all costs, for two reasons. Firstly, a victory will enhance their chances of taking part in the BP Top 8 KO competition next season. On the other hand, they have an obligation to restore their lost pride after dropping numerous points in their previous matches.

They disappointed their enthusiastic fans by losing 0-2 to Ria Stars at Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday.

Three matches will be played tomorrow. Free State Stars will play against Thembisa Classic at Charles Mopedi Stadium in Free State.

Wits University and Amazulu will meet at the Milpark Stadium in Johannesburg. Hellenic and Moroka Swallows will battle it out for the league points at the Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town. Ria Stars take on Sanlam Santos at Seshego Stadium on Sunday.

Orlando Pirates will have a date with Mamelodi Sundowns at the Loftus Minolta Stadium in Pretoria. Golden Arrows and Supersport United will wrestle for points at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. Bush Bucks and Jomo Cosmos will meet at the Absa Stadium in East London.
