A sad day for Miluwani Happy Boys

Themba Heroes gave Miluwani Happy Boys a day to remember when they beat them 2-0 in their MTG Soccer Challenge competition match at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday.

Happy Boys could have sealed the game within the first 20 minutes, but their strikers were unlucky. In the 14th minute they realized that it was not their day. A defender of Heroes, Naledzani Ramathavha, handled the ball within his own penalty area and the referee did not hesitate to award Happy Boys a penalty. Zwivhuya Netshandama caused an upset by shooting wide from the white spot.

Happy Boys did not stop fighting, despite the fact that it was difficult for them to find their way through the defence of Heroes. Realizing that their overlapping midfielder, Takalani Netshandama, was out of touch, Happy Boys replaced him with Livhuwani Sithubabila in the 34th minute.

Themba Heroes were not lucky enough to take the lead in the 37th minute. Their front runner, Tshilidzi Makuya, unleashed a volley from the edge of the box. The ball hit the woodwork and landed outside the field of play for a goal kick.

The second half saw Themba Heroes create some dangerous moves from behind, with no one to give the ball the final touch at the goal finish. No goal was seen during the regulated time and the winner was determined through penalty shoot-out. The keeper of Themba Heroes, Ntsieni Mukumela, made his presence felt by saving three shots from the white spot while the fourth one went wide. Themba Heroes converted two of their five chances through Vhahangwele Mathiba and the keeper, Ntsieni Mukumela.
