The first three matches of the MMK Funeral Services League Promotional play-offs were played over the past weekend.

Tshibvumo Young Stars failed to collect even one point. Their opening match was against United Artists, who beat them 2-1 at the Makwarela Stadium on Saturday. They also lost 0-3 to Rabali Pull Together at the same venue that afternoon.

As if that was not enough to upset the fans, Young Stars donated points to Mukula Young Stars when they lost 1-4 at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday. Their last defeat was against Rabali Pull Together, who beat them 2-1.

Mukula Young Santos commenced their programme by beating Rabali Pull Together 1-0. They went on to collect vital points by crushing Tshibvumo Young Stars 4-1 at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday. Young Stars raised the fans’ expectations by beating the other title contenders, United Artists, 2-1.

Western Stars are still in with a chance after winning both matches they have played to date. Their first match was against Tshibvumo Young Stars (3-1) and they fought hard to earn a 2-1 victory over Rabali Pull Together at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday.

Rockers are through to the regional final after collecting seven points in the play-off matches. They beat Igwe FC 2-1 in the opening match, drew 1-1 with Muziafera Blue Eagles and crushed Thula M2 5-2 in their final match.

Muziafera Blue Eagles opened their programme with a bang. They thrashed Thula M2 5-1 and drew 2-2 with Igwe FC. Thula M2, who also failed to grab a point in the play-offs, lost 1-4 to Igwe FC in their second match and lost 2-5 to Rockers FC.

Rockers will meet the winner in Stream A in the regional final at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday. The overall champion will represent the region in the provincial play-offs later this month.
