THOHOYANDOU – If this week were the last one for the Telkom Charity tournament voting process, then Black Leopards would be among the teams that will compete in the annual one-day event that will be staged at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, July 31.
At the time of going to press, Black Leopards were lying in the fourth spot in the voting process, with a gap of about 18 000 between them and the fifth-placed Moroka Swallows Football Club.
According to the public relations officer of the club, Mr Tshifhiwa Thidiela, they will compete in the annual event with pride and dignity as their goal scoring problems are something of the past. He stated that the return of the Swaziland international, Sibusiso Dlamini, to the team is a real healing therapy for their scoring worries.
According to him, Dlamini has entered into a three-year contract with Lidoda duvha. Dlamini joined Black Leopards from Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club four years ago. At that stage, Black Leopards were campaigning in the Premier First Division.
Dlamini played an important role in the promotion of the Thohoyandou outfit to the elite league. He played for two seasons with Black Leopards after their promotion to the Castle Premiership Division. He then moved to Kaizer Chiefs in search of greener pastures. That proved to be a bad move, however, as it was rare for him to play a full match during his stay with Kaizer Chiefs.
In an interview with Mirror early this week, Dlamini indicated that he was happy to be part of the Black Leopards family again. He admitted that his work rate had deteriorated over time during his stay in the Naturena camp. He appealed to the people who thought that he was finished to watch him displaying his skills during the Telkom Charity Spectacular Tournament at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday, July 31.
