The U/17 netball team of Azwifarwi Secondary School will represent Limpopo during the forthcoming national championships.

An official of the South African Football Association (Safa), Mr Hulisani Mabasa, visited the school last week and expressed the hope that they will bring the title back to Limpopo. The national finals will take place at the premises of EG Jansen Secondary School in Boksburg in August.

Mabasa told the players that they should not look at sport only as a form of recreation."Sport is no longer only recreation, but a career path that you can follow to make a living. Not all of you can make a living out of your academic performances. Do not undermine your talents in sports," he added.

A visit to the team’s practice session showed that they are rearing to go and that the mood is at an all-time high, with all team members and staff fully prepared for the mammoth task ahead of them. Team manager Mr George Nemutudi said the team did not find itself where it was by chance or luck. “We are a hardworking team and we have prepared our team thoroughly. Last year we were eliminated at provincial level, but we came back and rectified our mistakes and thus we are here today, going to represent the province,” he said.
