Tough victory for Tshilulu Mangoes

Tshilulu Mighty Mangoes were crowned the champions of the annual Sedzazwau Soccer Tournament on Sunday. They beat Ficus FC 7-6 in the final of the tournament at the Khubvi Peace Makers’ grounds.

Mighty Mangoes were presented with R1 000 during a ceremony held at the grounds shortly after the final. Ficus took home R700, the third-placed Khubvi Peace Makers R400 and MT Green Mambas (fourth) R300.

MT Green Mambas lost 0-2 to Khubvi Peace Makers in their losers’ final match that was played shortly before the final. Seven teams took part in the tournament.

The results of all the matches are: Khubvi Peace Makers 2, Tshibvumo Young Stars 1; Ficus FC 9, Khubvi Dangerous Darkies 1; MT Green Mambas 6, Thenzheni Liverpool 5; Khubvi Peace Makers 6, Tshilulu Mighty Mangoes 7; Khubvi Peace Makers 2, MT Green Mambas 0 and Tshilulu Mighty Mangoes 7, Ficus FC 6.

A local businessman, Mr Thinandavha Ramagoma, sponsored the tournament. In an interview he indicated that he would continue to sponsor the tournament in coming years.
