Handicapped Leopards to host Sundowns

Sport  Date: 15 February 2002

THOHOYANDOU – The trouble torn Black Leopards will have another tough time when they meet Mamelodi Sundowns FC in their Castle Premiership League fixture at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow.

A quick glance in the Black Leopards camp shows that the home side will be lucky if they manage to escape with a draw. Three of their key players, Vusi Kharivhe, Thokozani Mnguni and Christopher Netshidzivhe will be watching the game from the grand stand. Kharivhe sustained an injury in their match against Sanlam Santos at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday. Mnguni is still serving his two match suspension after receiving four yellow cards in the previous matches. Their demon midfielder, Netshidzivhe's right leg is in plaster, after sustaining an injury during training last week.

The spirit in the Sundowns camp is extremely high following their 3-0 victory over Moroka Swallows last weekend. The match will start at 15:30.

In the other Castle Premiership League matches Orlando Pirates will play against Hellenic at the Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town. Moroka Swallows and Amazulu will battle it out for the league points at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg.

Kaizer Chiefs and Ria Stars will meet at the Ellispark Stadium. Ajax Cape Town and Golden Arrows will test each other's strength at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town. Thembisa Classic will entertain Jomo Cosmos at Mehlareng Stadium in Thembisa.

The match between Free State Stars and Wits University will be played at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in Free State. Only one match will be played tonight. Manning Rangers will host Supersport United at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.
