The enthusiastic fans of Spar FC left the Tshiozwi grounds with sore hearts on Sunday, after Madombidzha Poverty hammered them 6-3 in the Spar tournament.

Spar abused numerous scoring chances in the opening minutes. Poverty found the net in the 16th minute when Robby Munonoka sent in a rocket from the far-left corner, leaving the Spar keeper a flabbergasted man.

Munonoka increased the margin in the 30th minute. He put his team further ahead shortly after the start of the second half. He went loose from what was arguably an offside position and scored easily.

Spar then introduced Majoni Seaphela and his side managed to reduce the margin shortly thereafter, when Tambu Mulaudzi scored.

Poverty scored again when Robby Munonoka beat the keeper with a simple ground cutter in the 47th minute. Spar scored their second goal via Majoni Seaphela in 58th minute.

The left flank of Poverty, Silas Rammbona, then left the keeper flat footed when his long-range ground cutter hit the back of the net. Silver Ndou scored twice in quick succession for Poverty, and David Maluleke of Spar scored his team's third goal shortly before the end of the match.
