THOHOYANDOU - Thohoyandou Stadium will be the centre of attraction tomorrow afternoon. That is where the long awaited Castle Premiership League match between Black Leopards and Kaizer Chiefs will be played.
Black Leopards scored four beautiful goals in their first round match against Chiefs, but they chose to donate two of them to the opponents and thus bringing the final score to 2-2. That, according to the Public Relations Officer of Leopards, Mr Tshifhiwa Thidiela, will never happen again.
Leopards are still to win a league match since the beginning of their second round activities. According to the marketing manager of Leopards, Mpho Ravele the entry tickets will be available at the Thohoyandou Arts and Culture Centre, Thohoyandou Town Hall and at the Thulamela Municipality offices from 06:00 until 13:00 on the day of the match.
This according to him is to avoid the Ellispark Stadium situation, where 43 people died at the gates in their struggle to enter into the stadium despite the fact that the stadium was already full. According to him only a very few tickets will be sold at the gates.
He assured the people that security will be tight inside and around the stadium. "Our club security will join hands with the SAPS, PSL security and the South African National Defence Force in their endeavor to control congestion at the gates," said Ravele.
The gates will open at 09:00. Two matches will be played prior to the big one. Goonamates Soccer Masters and Phiphidi Soccer Masters will meet in the finals of the MMK Insurance Soccer Masters KO at 12:00. Kubvi Soccer Masters and Stamina Free Soccer Masters will fight for the third position at 10:00.
The loosing team in the match between Leopards and Chiefs will have nobody to blame, as both sides are boosting injury free squads. The match is scheduled to kick-off at 15:30.
