Eight teams fight it out in Castle soccer spectacular

THOHOYANDOU – Eight teams will take part in the Castle Regional League Soccer spectacular, which will be staged at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

According to the Marketing Officer for the M-Sports Marketing, Ms Felicia Ntsisa the activities of the day are scheduled to start at 09:30.

The teams that will be battling for the big honours are Bungeni Young Tigers, Mandala Young Vultures, Kibi Trio Stars, Pipa Young Stars, Dinga Black Heroes, Tshiozwi Dynamos, Wilson Express and Zwigodini Real Vikings.

According to the program, Bungeni Young Tigers and Mandala Young Vultures will be the first to enter the field of play. Tigers lost 1-2 in their first round match that was played at Mandala ground three months ago. The game will start at 09:30.

Kibi Trio Stars and Pipa Young Stars will follow suit at 11:15. The next match will be between Dinga Black Heroes and Tshiozwi Dynamos. This one is scheduled for 14:00. Wilson Express and Zwigodini Real Vikings will wrap up the program at 16:00.

Ms Ntisa stated that apart from the fact that the teams will be fighting for league points, there would be a lot of prizes at stake. According to her the man of the match in each game will go home with a cheque amounting to R250. Other prizes will include caps, T-shirts, soccer balls and sports bags.

To make it more of a fun day, the organisers have decided to offer free entry to everyone. The organizers have also appealed to the technical staff of both Ria Stars and Black Leopards to use the soccer matches as a platform in recruiting new players. The well-known local musician, Amon Mvula will entertain the people throughout the day.
