The best player in the boys’ category, Shadrack Ndlovu.

The Makhado Local Football Association's U/15 boys soccer team was crowned the 2014 Vhembe regional champions during the tournament staged at the FNB Makwarela Stadium last Saturday.
Makhado LFA beat the Makwarela FNB squad 4-3 in the final. The winner was determined through a penalty shoot-out after a goalless full-time score.
Makhado were presented with a floating trophy and gold medals during the ceremony held at the stadium shortly after the final, while FNB Makwarela received silver medals. In the girls’ category, Merwe FC were crowned the champions. The team from the Malamulele area beat Tshikonelo FC 3-0 in the final.
Just like their male counterparts, Merwe FC took home a floating trophy and gold medals. Thembi Minyuku of Merwe FC was nominated the best player in the girls' tournament, while Shadrack Ndlovu of FNB Makwarela was the best player in the boys’ category. Minyuku and Ndlovu received gold medals.
Three teams, Merwe FC, Tshikonelo FC and Makhado LFA, took part in the girls’ category. The five teams which battled it out in the boys’ category were Thulamela LFA, Mutale LFS, Musina LFA, FNB Makwarela and Makhado LFA.
The full results for the girls’ category are Makhado LFA 1, Merwe FC 1; Makhado LFA 2, Tshikonelo FC 1, and Merwe FC 3, Tshikonelo FC 0. The results for the boys’ category are Makhado LFA 5, Mutale LFA 4; FNB Makwarela 3, Musina LFA 1; Mutale LFA 3, Thulamela LFA 2 and Makhado LFA 5, FNB Makwarela 4.
