Benny’s Care book place in the final

Sport  Date: 26 September 2014

Benny's Care booked a place in the final of the Heritage Tournament when they beat Gogobole Bucs 2-1 at Gogobole on Saturday.

The Gogobole outfit approached the match like a house on fire, with their midfielders distributing some telling passes to their strikers. They threatened to score 10 minutes into the match when Try Sebola forced his way through the defence of Benny’s before passing to Lucky Funyufunyu. His attempt missed the target by inches.

The match was 24 minutes old when Domenic Mafuleni made his presence felt. He  unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and the keeper of Benny’s, Gladwin Gulula, watched in disbelief as the ball hit the net to give Bucs a 1-0 lead at half time.

The second half saw Benny’s pressing hard in search of more goals. Realising that their chances were slim, Bucs abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back. Bucs lost shape in the midfield and Benny’s capitalised to score in the 66th minute. Marubini Manyane dribbled past three defenders in a row and blasted in a rocket from inside the box.

Benny’s Mutshidzi Nemaxwi scored the second goal of his team in the 78th minute after beating the offside trap.
