Black Leopards are fast becoming the NFD league’s milk cow. They suffered a 0-2 defeat at the hands of Witbank Spurs at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank on Sunday.
Lidoda Duvha dictated terms in the first 20 minutes. The home side scored in the 34th minute. Morgan Shivambu, Leopards’ midfielder, scored an own goal while trying to clear the ball from the goal line. Spurs increased the tally via Xoli Themba two minutes before the break.
In the other match that was also played on Sunday, Vasco da Gama played to a 1-1 draw with Cape Town All Stars at the Parow Park Stadium in Cape Town. Maluti FET College could not absorb the pressure from Thanda Royal Zulu, who crushed them 2-0 at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in the Free State.
Baroka FC failed to collect full points, despite the fact that they were playing in front of their home crowd. They shared the spoils with Highlandspark FC, following a 1-1 draw at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane. Another match which also ended in a 1-1 draw was between Jomo Cosmos and FC Cape Town at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa.
Lamontville Golden Arrows beat African Warriors 1-0 at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban. Santos scored four goals and conceded two against Royal Eagles at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town on Friday evening. The rookies, Garankuwa United, gave away league points to Milano United. They were narrowly beaten 0-1 at the Pilditch Stadium in Pretoria.
