Tshixwadza Brazilians FC, popularly known as Chipolopolo, beat Mapuloni Highlanders FC 3-1 in a league match at Chipolopolo's home ground on Saturday.

It was Chipolopolo's second match in the SAB League. They drew 1-1 with Mulodi Freedom Birds FC in their first match.

Limpopo Mirror visited the Chipolopolo boys at their camping site on the morning of the match. Players were sitting under the nut and mango trees, telling manly jokes. “Whenever we are playing games, we spend a night at the camp,” said the team's captain, Thendo Nwedamutsu. “We need to discipline our minds and bodies by refusing ourselves other pleasures for the sake of our team and fans.”

He said that the only muti which Chipolopolo used for success was unity, discipline, commitment and focus. He stated that a camp prior to a match was one of the strategies that made them win the league when they were playing under the Mutale Local Football Association last season.“Camping is very important because it also creates unity amongst the players and the technical staff.”

The team is the successor to the former Tshixwadza Top Centre FC. It was established in 2007 and it was named Tshixwadza Brazilians FC.

“The team belongs to the community and we get full support from the community under the Tshixwadza Royal Council,” said the chairperson of the team, Tshilidzi Mudzielwana. “Our primary objective is to take our boys away from negative acts such as crime, alcohol and drug abuse. Yes, we also encourage our boys to focus on education as it is the key to sucess.”
