THOHOYANDOU – Black Leopards rose to the occasion when they convincingly crushed Buch Bucks 3-0 in their thrilling Castle Premiership League fixture that was played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday. The results were not a true reflection of the game as the home side squandered numerous chances.
The Leopards' Swaziland international, Sbusiso Dlamini made his presence felt in the fifth minute. He capitalized on the Bucks keeper's handling mistake and blasted in a rocket from the close range. Mulondo Sikhwivhilu caused an upset when he hesitated for too long to unleash with the stranded keeper to beat.
The team from Eastern Cape lost its original fighting spirit when their defender, Dumisani Mpofu was cautioned with a card following a bad tackle on Sbusiso Dlamini. Lidoda duvha continued to pressurize the opponents with their strikers misusing their opportunities.
Their efforts paid off the dividends two minutes towards break. Dumisani Mpofu deflected the ball back into his own net while trying to clear Sbusiso Dlamini's square pass. The score was 2-0 at half time. Bucks introduced John Maduka and Clament Mazibuko for Rabie Nkoane and William Lerefolo earlier in the last half.
They later used their last substitution chance by replacing Marc Macveigh with Philip Mofokeng. The domestic boys responded by brining on Manobo Mkhize, Dingaan Masanabo and Richard Lishivha for Wonder Nhleko, Jafta Mabosho and Mulondo Sikhwivhilu.
Masanabo was unlucky when his goal was disallowed on the basis that he was on the offside position. The visitors also saw what could have been their solitary goal disallowed when the assistant referee raised his flag up for an offside. The third goal for the Limpopo outfit was scored by Wanani Mulaudzi in the 84th minute.
