Six teams from Tshakhuma, all affiliated to the Makhado LFA, are currently engaged in the TD Soccer Challenge.

The teams are Tshakhuma Blue Birds, Shooting Stars, Finale FC, Muthenga FC, Peace Lovers FC and the TNN Academy.

The opening matches of the competition were played last Saturday. Blue Birds proceeded to the next stage of the competition by beating Shooting Stars 1-0, while Finale were too strong for TNN, whom they brutally walloped 4-0. The semifinal matches will be played next weekend, while the final will be played at a date and venue still to be announced.

The winners of the competition will receive R1 500 and a floating trophy, while the runners-up will take home R1 000.

A well-known local businessman, Mr Takalani David Thaba of TD New Look Electrical Construction, is the sponsor of the competition. He is one of the founder-members of the Tshakhuma Na Ndilani Football Club.
