Boxing championship for Thohoyandou

THOHOYANDOU - Boxers in the province will square up against each other for the first provincial championships to be staged in the Thohoyandou Indoor Sports Centre on March 8.

The main bout will between Ntshengedzeni Netshivhera and Sipho Delta Mukhithi, and is scheduled for ten rounds for the vacant provincial middleweight title.

In the supporting bout, also scheduled for ten rounds, Ndifelani Manyelenyele and Michael Baloyi will battle it out in the light middleweight division.

Netshivhera has a record of 10 fights, six wins and four losses while Mukhithi has a record of nine fights, five wins and four losses. Manyelenyele boasts a record of eight fights seven of which are wins and one defeat, while Baloyi has nine fights, with six wins one draw and two losses.

In the other bouts, Thomas Sadike will fight against Livingstone Khoza in the welterweight division over six rounds while Avhashoni Mbedzi and Martin Manthata will also go over six rounds in the same division.

In a lightweight fight over four rounds, Balanganani Ndou will fight against Nkosinathi Tshinavhe, while light featherweights Sakaria Mudau and Justice Hlungwani will face each other.

In the light welterweight division, Norman Tshisikhawe and Tshifhiwa Matambule will face each other.

The tournament is staged by Tshiawelo Boxing Promotions. The event will start at 18h00.
