Dynamos give Chiefs a lifetime shock

THOHOYANDOU –

The referee, Mr Jonas Nhlapo, made his presence felt in the 10th minute, when he flashed the first yellow card to Dynamos' captain, Lifa Qosha. The latter was cautioned for a continued argument with the whistle man.

The Amakhosi soon realised that it was not their day when their killer-striker, David Radebe beat Lifa Qosha and ran a few steps before shooting straight into the stranded Dynamos keeper, Aime Kitenge, in the 17th minute.

As part of their strategy to disorganise their opponents, Dynamos displayed their dribbling skills in the middle of the park. The player whose performance was outstanding from start to finish was Dynamous' diminutive striker, Josam Ndou.

Chiefs missed another chance three minutes into the last half when David Radebe's header missed the target by inches. Things turned against the team from Gauteng shortly after Dynamos introduced Joel Seroba for Sello Ledingwane.

Seroba was a difficult man to contain for the Chiefs defence. His first touch of the ball ended with an attempt, which saw the Chiefs keeper, Brian Baloyi stretching to the limit to fist the ball away for a corner-kick in the 65th minute.

Dynamos later introduced Timothy Nkosi for Josam Ndou. Chiefs responded by bringing on Thabo Mooki for Shoes Mosheou. Kenneth Motshuni scored the only goal of the match. He unleashed a volley that left Brian Baloyi a flabbergasted man.

Chiefs would have found an equaliser had Karamba Musasa not shot wide from close range in the dying minutes of the match.
