Another tricky hurdle for Dynamos

Sport  Date: 24 January 2003

GIYANI – Giyani Stadium will be abuzz on Sunday when Dynamos and Sundowns Football Club meet in what promises to be a potentially pulsating Castle Premiership league fixture.

A quick look at the recent performance of the two teams shows that Dynamos is better placed to collect full points from the fixture. Sundowns Football Club have lost all their last three matches. Their most recent defeat was a 0-1 blow at the hands of Wits University last weekend. The three disappointing results have dropped them a few steps down the log.

On the other hand Dynamos are still one of the hot favourites for the league championship. The match is scheduled to start at 15:30.

Only one match will be played tonight. Wits University will host Ajax Cape Town at the Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg starting at 20:00.

Two matches will be played at various venues tomorrow.

Black Leopards will undertake a journey to Cape Town. They will fight for league points against Hellenic at the Athlone Stadium. African Wanderers will entertain Jomo Cosmos at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban.

Manning Rangers will travel to their neighbours, Lamontville Golden Arrows on Sunday. Their match will be played at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban. The match that will be screened on television will be between Supersport United and Kaizer Chiefs. The two teams meet at the HM Pitje Stadium in Pretoria.

Two matches will be played at various venues next Wednesday, January 29. Bush Bucks and Orlando Pirates will meet at the Absa Stadium in East London while Santos and Kaizer Chiefs will play at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.
