Oscar Stars too good for Breakers

Sport  Date: 16 January 2015

Makhitha Oscar Stars strengthened their position on the Safa Vhembe MMK Admistrators' League log when they beat Tshikhwani Stone Breakers 2-0 at the Tshikhwani grounds on Sunday.

Breakers were only good at the far back, but their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time for their goal poachers. This sloppy performance put their defence under tremendous pressure. The boys from Makhitha initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the defence of their opponents.

Fhulufhelo Rambau of Breakers was lucky to escape with a verbal warning after kicking Sydney Lubengo of Stars.

The Makhitha lads cooled the ball down in the middle of the park, giving their opponents no chance in the early minutes of the match. Marubini Maupo of Stars scored from a free kick in the 40th minute.  After the goal, Stars came back strongly, but the keeper of Breakers, Marubini Moshukwa, denied them a goal when he fisted Sydney Luvhengo's volley away.

In the second half, Marubini Maupo of Stars forced his way through and released a rocket from outside the box to complete his brace.
