Tshiozwi Dynamos continue to donate league points match after match, losing 1-0 to the youthful Benny’s Care in the MMK Administrators derby at Tshiozwi on Saturday.
It was war in the true sense of the word. At first it was Dynamos who were threatening to find the net, but things changed as the game approached the halfway mark of the first stanza. Velaphi Mphaphuli, the Dynamos' right flank, had his chance in the ninth minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Nyathi Muvhango. He shot aimlessly from close range and the ball went wide.
Benny’s regrouped and took the game to their opponents. Benny’s midfielder Mutshidzi Nemaxwi tried his luck from outside the penalty area with a volley, and the ball hit the upright and bounced back into the field of play.
No goal was seen during the first half, despite numerous attempts by both sides.
The keeper of Dynamos, Vhuthuhawe Netshiombvani, denied Benny’s strikers numerous sure goals. Khutso Mafishe unleashed a volley from the edge of the box in the 89th minute and scored the only goal of the day. Benny’s keeper, Gladwin Nghunyula, made his presence felt when he stretched to the limit to pull off a brilliant save after Murendeni Tshidada was already celebrating after he beat three defenders in a row.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
