DZANANI – Mphephu Naughty Boys Football Club collected full points at the expense of Siloam XI Bullets, following a 2-0 victory in their Makhado Funeral Undertakers Soccer League match, that was played at the Dzanani grounds on Sunday.
The visiting side controlled the proceedings throughout the game, but failed to convert their numerous chances into goals. Two Naughty Boys’ players, Rodney Mapilela and Arnold Mushweu, were reprimanded with yellow cards in the 6th and 10th minute respectively.
Mapilela was cautioned for tackling Shumani Ramugumo roughly, while Mushweu handled the ball intentionally. The scoreboard was still blank at half time. The home side rectified their mistakes and approached the second half with their tails up.
Their efforts paid dividends in the 49th minute. Ntsieni Kwinda finished off a loose ball after Naughty Boys were awarded a place kick. They replaced Freddy Ramabulana and Shonisane Raselabe with Chelfan Milanzi and Khaukanani Musenwa in the 60th minute.
Bullets later introduced Khuliso Mukheli and Shumani Nengudza for Dziedzi Maanda and Takalani Tshikumbana respectively. They continued to play under pressure despite the replacements. The left back of XI Bullets, Tsumbedzo Ramala, was also booked for an illegal tackle on Maanda Mavhona in the 75th minute.
Naughty Boys increased the tally in the 85th minute. Maanda Mavhona scored after a square pass from Ntsieni Kwinda.
XI Bullets donated the league points to Maelula Newmates the previous day following their 0-1 defeat at the Siloam grounds.
