THOHOYANDOU - Former WBU champion, Phillip “Time Bomb” Ndou, wants to return to the ring, should his brain cyst vanish.

Ndou’s brain will be re-scanned by his doctor this month to verify if the cyst that has terminated his boxing career still exists.

Despite the possibility of returning to the ring, he promised to build two gyms in Thohoyandou and Polokwane in the Limpopo Province. Ndou’s aim is to promote the up-and-coming boxers in the province. He said that all this would be possible because his trainer, Mr Nic Durrant, will be helping him in the promotion of young boxers.

Many people are going to Gauteng Province for training because of the shortage of resources in the remote areas.

Boxing analyst Mr Mashudu Siaga said it is good for Ndou to be re-scanned, in order for him to know his future. “Boxers like Evander Hollyfield were once diagnosed with a heart attack that was threatening his career, and by consulting with doctors, his health improved and he continued boxing,” Siaga said. “Now Phillip is still young and energetic and I wish him good luck,” he added.
