During its sitting at the league’s offices in Thohoyandou last Thursday evening, the disciplinary committee of the Safa Vhembe League imposed heavy fines on several clubs, including the league contenders in Stream E, Makhitha Oscar Stars.
Stars were found guilty of fielding Thembisani Neluvhada, who was not properly registered. They were fined R5 000 and three points were awarded to their opponents, Makhitha Iyarunga FC.
Dididi Flying Swallows received a fine of R5 000 for assaulting the referee in their match against Makhovha All Stars, while Zoutpansberg Powerline were fined R600 for causing the abandonment of the match against Makhitha Oscar Stars. The three match points were also awarded to Stars.
Tshakhumanandilani FC were fined R5 000 for bringing the league into disrepute in their match against Maweja Takers and they forfeited the points to their opponents. An amount of R2 500 was suspended for a year and the rest must be paid within 30 days.
Madritas were fined R5 000 for assaulting the referee in their match against Hosana Citizen FC.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
