Last Friday was payday for the teams that took part in the 2014 TJ Healthcare Pharmacy KO competition. The ceremony was held at the pharmacy at Sibasa.

Cash prizes totaling R8 000 were distributed to the winning teams during the ceremony.

The champions, Maindis Ladies FC, received the largest cheque. They were presented with a cash prize of R5 000, a floating trophy, a soccer ball and T-shirts. The runners-up, Chippas United Ladies FC, took home R2 000, a soccer ball and T-shirts. The third-placed side, Shayandima Morning Stars, received R1 000 and T-shirts during the ceremony.

The managing director of TJ Health Pharmacy, Mr Musa Maluleke, revealed that he will continue to sponsor the competition and that the sponsorship will increase this year.

According to one of the organizers for the competition, Mr Rabson Magoro, preparations for this year’s competition are at an advanced stage. He appealed to the clubs wishing to be part of this year’s competition to register at the pharmacy. The registration fee is R500.

According to Magoro, only clubs affiliated to the Sasol and Absa League are eligible to register in the competition. Unlike last year, where only teams based in Vhembe District took part in the competition, the competition is open to all Absa and Sasol League affiliates who are based in Limpopo this year.
