Makhitha Oscar Stars beat Madombidzha Arsenal 2-1 in their MMK Administrators league match at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Arsenal were only good at the far back and their midfielders hesitated for too long and did not release the ball on time. Stars initiated promising moves from the centre of the pitch but were denied scoring opportunities by the defenders of their opponents.

Stars' veteran, Lucky Funyufunyu, scored first goal in 30th minute. He hit the back of the net with a beautiful header after a corner kick by Thusani Luvhengo. Arsenal received a penalty, but Eugene Makhuvha shot wide from the white spot.

Arsenal approached the second half like a house on fire and they threatened to score in the early minutes. Jimmy Ramabubuda forced his way through the defence and passed the ball to Mbengeni Rambuwani, but he narrowly missed the target by inches.

Stars then started to defend their goal and their players abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back. Eugene Makhuvha of Arsenal then forced his way through the defence of the opponents and released a rocket to equalise.

After the goal, Arsenal lost shape in the midfield and Marubini Maupa scored Stars' second goal after he finished off a square pass from Lucky Funyufunyu.
