The current log leaders of Safa Vhembe MMK Administrators' League Stream E, Makhitha Oscar Stars, bit the dust when they lost 2-1 to Makhitha Iyarunga in their local derby at Makhitha on Sunday.

The match was attended by more than 3 000 spectators from around Sinthumule/Kutama. Stars took the game to their opponents in the first 20 minutes. Their speedy forward, Hector Ledwaba, let them down by shooting aimlessly at the goal finish.

Iyarunga's diminutive kingpin, Ashean Monyeleote, beat the offside trap and faced the stranded keeper, Pasca Mukona, but lost possession at the goal finish. Rhulani Maringa, the Stars midfielder, had his chance in the 30th minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Sydney Luvhengo. He shot aimlessly from close range and the ball went wide.

The referee flashed the first yellow card in the 35th minute. Given Ndou of Iyarunga obstructed Takalani Mbekwa.

Stars' only goal came in the 38th minute. Thusani “Mbevha” Luvhengo beat the opposing keeper, Elikana Nemabaka, after dribbling past two defenders in a row.

Iyarunga equalised through Ashean Monyeleote in 56th minute and their winning goal came two minutes later. Norman Managa's long-range ground cutter left the keeper of Stars, Pasca Mukona, flat-footed. He was later injured and replaced by Gift Rambuwani.
